Students had a golden opportunity to interact with the teacher and
parent community of grade 3 where they witnessed presentations by them which
talked about their individualities. The session helped the students enrich their learning experience where
they appreciated the appearances, different celebrations, food, hobby,
clothes and emotional characteristics of theirs which helped them to understand
the first line of inquiry well as they were able to connect and draw inferences
on what was being spoken by them. The artefacts bought by one of the parents
from Russia were an example of fabulous craftsmanship found in the country. She
also talked about a dying art which she is keen on learning and has been
leaning about it for times now. The students reflected on the talk session and
understood that though they are different they are alike. They discussed their
understanding in their groups which made a lot of sense to them after
brainstorming with each other.
